Ballast Water Management Convention and BWMS Code 2018 Edition
International Convention on the Control and Management of Ballast Water and Sediment,
deals with the prevention, minimisation and elimination of risks to the environment, human health and property and resources resulting from the transfer of harmful waters, through the control and management of ballast water and marine sediment. The BWM Convention also aims to avoid undesirable side effects of control and encourages the development of knowledge and technology in this area.
The publication is intended to refer to current legislation and to standardise the interpretation of the articles and the Annex to the BWM Convention.
